I am a sinner

One of the reasons why I write is because I am a sinner. Well, I am a Catholic Christian and as a person who has already accepted Jesus as my only Lord and Savior, I aim to live a good life, a life that pleases God. But despite this, I still sin. I just can’t resist it. No matter how I do. And so I write to express everything to God.

I think this situations are moments when God wants to tell me that I really can’t do it alone. I mean, a person is meant to sin, is meant to fail. But Jesus is to the rescue. He can save us from that curse as long as we just surrender to His love and authority in our lives.

I also think this situation is God’s message that only to Him we can rely anything we want. In the first place, God designs men to only receive, to only be a recipient of God’s grace and mercy. There’s no any option. We only receive, and God only gives. But because Adam and Eve sinned, it changes. We now work hard to earn things we need. We don’t only receive now. But Jesus again is to the rescue. He can provide everything we want just if we surrender everything to Him, including our very life.

And because of that, God wants us to know that we just keep our faith in Him. After you sin, how strong and faithful are you to believe that He can heal you because He will always love you? But it shouldn’t be a way for us to continuously sin. Every sin is a lesson, and a step to move forward. Every sin is a realization that indeed only God can give. No matter how humans do, only God can sustain all our needs, externally and internally. It is because that’s how we are actually designed to be. We’re supposed to be only vessels of the Divine Creator. Nothing more.

I’ve learned this before but it actually becomes clearer now. The purpose of frustration that we are feeling is to force us to abandon the lie that we have a right to have things our way, that we can provide for and be complete in ourselves, that we are anything other than instruments of the Divine Creator, created for His glory.

It’s time for me to abandon the lie that I can be a god. I come from God and I live to just reflect the divine glory back to God. Thank you, Jesus.
